cummins power booster news about 600
Went to Cummins today to stock up on oil and fuel filters and got to talking about the 600 engines, performance, mpg, etc. He said what most others were saying "takes more fuel for more power". Then he gave me the flyer by cummins called power booster news, being new to diesels I have never heard of it you veteran diesel drivers probably have. Anyway, it has some good info on the 600. It does briefly mention economy, simply stating it takes more fuel for more power, same as the salesman said. Later it says pulling the same load, at the same speed you should see similar MPG. Just thought i would share this. Not much help, but it did come from Cummins so I thought I would share.
The Power Boosters/Masters is a pretty good thing.
I get a discound on both parts and service at my local Cummins shop.
Check the web page:

for the one nearest you, but also call the contact number. I got even more good info from Cummins over the phone.

Power boosters was the best $25 I ever spent..
The writeup in the boosters flyer is good as is does describe some of the internal changes to the engine etc for the 600. Also a good comparison in Hp/Tq of the competition, no curves though.
