A couple different questions about 19.5 commercial tires
HI Guys. I know the 19.5 thing has been beaten to death. But I had a couple different questions. I know 19.5's are much heavier tires but how much more does this setup weigh with 245/70 19.5's compared to stock? How much performance did anyone lose? Do they noticeably affect braking negatively? Am I correct in assuming these have reduced rolling resistance over LT tires? Resulting in mpg improvements? Or is a mpg increase negated by the additional rotating mass? Lastly, I'd like to run a closed shoulder steer tire like most OTR trucks run for longevity. But I wonder if our trucks are heavy enough to do so safely. My inclination is to say no. But anyone have a differing experience or opinion? I worry about lack of hydroplane resistance for the wet mostly, it wouldn't be driven much in the winter.
No one has any input for these questions? Odd. Another question to add to this. Has anyone found that the additional weight and/or ride stiffness of the 19.5's has worn out front end components faster?
