I am thinking of building a nitro r/c truck 1/8 scale and set it up for pulling. I would also make a sled to hook it up to. Do you think this would be fun? To bad these motors can't run on diesel! But their wieght to power ratio would be like having 3000hp in our trucks. They even have aftermarket performance parts!!

It would be cool. That would be awesome to have a diesel truck with a huge 1 inch stack rolling coal. I guess you could just double up on the 2 stroke oil and it would smoke.

i used to be into the high performance R/C cars. i still have a nitro powered car but it hasnt been ran in a couple years. Someday i would like to get into the hobby again but i think i would stay electric. there is soooo much to maintain on one of those nitro engines and they are really picky. The do make diesel engines for models tho and putting one of those into a 1/8th scale car would be sweet.

Check out this site - http://www.davisdieseldevelopment.com/

They offer diesel conversions for the small engines - while the fuel isn't diesel like you get from the pump, its still a blend much like diesel, cheaper, and MUCH more efficient than the nitro fuel. I've heard they can puff some black smoke too.

i have a little nitro RC truck "t-maxx" i had been wanting one for some time but never got one cause i new i would break it, well i got one two years ago for a gift and i had it for about 3 months and guess what, i broke it it was fun well it lasted, but i still have it and will fix it some day when i have more then enough cash to spend on my real truck. they say that the trucks over heat easy cause they are air cooled and are made to go fast so they stay cool, but im sure you could set up some kind of fan or somthing. I would also not mind making alittle tow rig, maybe you could even find a 2nd gen body for it.

they are loud without the muffler

I have been looking for a second gen body but can't find one, yet. I have seen some third gen body but they still don't look like the real thing, only the front looks like it.
