Pro Racer and Hollywood Stuntman, Mike Ryan, decided to accept the challenge of wrestling his purpose built Freightliner Cascadia up the Mt. Washington Auto Road in the 2011 "Climb To The Clouds" in New Hampshire. This video feature shows the amazing talent and commitment it takes to pilot a 10,000 lbs. Semi Truck with 1,950 twin turbocharged horsepower up an extremely steep and narrow mountain road. Mike's time of 8:02.65 to the top was the 27th fastest time to the summit and was a jaw dropping experience to all who witnessed the Gulf Oil liveried Semi streaking up the mountain. With multiple on board cameras placed in dramatic locations around the Big Rig...ride along and experience the sights and sounds of a full speed race run up this treacherous road. |
That was crazy. Glad it wasn't me...LOL I am just not that wild anymore.....
|
Holy crap, I think I just peed myself a little.
|
I'm having to pull the crease from my leather chair out after watching that.....

ya think his blood pressure is up a little?

That was simply amazing. Thanks for putting this up for all to see and enjoy. The sounds emanting from the truck, whisltes, turbo's, exhaust etc are way kewl!
Cheers! Mike |
Love that vid.. Nice to hear an actual inline diesel do that.. There was another hill climb video but it had an overseas V6 race diesel in it, didn't sound the same.
|
That takes a serious set of cojones...

I've driven up that auto road, and there are spots with something like a 3,000' drop and no gaurd rail, not to mention spots where my truck + one other compact car do not fit. Coming down with the wife on the "open view" side is the real fun part. :D
More power to that man because I had enough of a time crawling up and down it. [laugh] |
Badass.
|
That was AWESOME!!
What kind of tranny is in it? Seemed to shift real fast. I guessing some kind of electronic auto with the operator having full control? |
How well does it do in mud?
