Going by the map on this page:

I'd have to use a whole tank of regular Diesel to get to the closest retailer,
then use the entire tank of bio getting home,
then have to fill up with ole fashioned Diesel again anyway.
That's why I haven't even shown an interest in Bio, yet.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
This should really encourage the local stations to switch... Right now, fueling up takes me an extra hour of drive time, but the truck loves her B20 diet...
If B20 winds up being cheaper than #2, people will flock to the B20 pumps... driving the retailers!
Good news for sure...
GO W!!!!!

So when switching over to bio, would it be better to slowly nurse your current engine off of regular diesel, such as running B10 for a few tanks, then B20, then B30 and so and so.....?
Also do we need to modify our engines to run biodiesel?

No modifications necessary. And I've never heard of "nursing".
Biodiesel (Free of Impurites) and Dino-Diesel (Free of Impurities) are CHEMICALLY IDENTICAL. Biodiesel happens to be free of all that nasty Sulfur and stuff, giving you much cleaner Diesel.

Bio has more of a solvent effect than regular diesel and will loosen any deposits from your tank and fuel system. It's recommended that you change fuel filters after the first couple tanks of bio then again at 5k.

Bio Diesel Available
I called the bio-diesel council, e-mailed all the producers, no bio-diesel close by I was told. Bummer, But I talked it up and found out my closest town to the north had a brand new station.
My advice if your interested and who wouldn't be ask around, be sure to ask your retail stations when they will start stocking it. Retailers fill demand thats how they/we make money.

Guys, go to www.biodiesel.org and the buying biodiesel section. There is a clickable map of retail locations, and a clickable map of distributors of biodiesel.
Edgrim - it looks like in NM there is just these two-
Ever-Ready Oil Company
1200 1st Street
Albuquerque, NM 87102
Sun Biodiesel Distributors
1424 South Abilene Street
Portales, NM 88260
Here's the map of distributors:
