Big rig drivers,,pyrometer readings?

I know we have some big rig drivers on here, curious if you have
EGT gauges and what kind of readings you get when under load.
What temp do you like to stay below?
Also, do you use full synthetic engine oil? If so how many miles or hours, do
you run before changing?
Thanks!

My KW loaded on flat ground cruises 70 mph at 700°@ 5psi boost.
Stay below 1200°
Although I use synthetic oils in trannies and differentials I run non syn Delo 15w40 in all my diesel engines.
Just don't see the cost benefit running synthetic engine oil.

I'll go a few steps beyond big rigs. 23 ton Caterpillar 3608 marine diesel engine. We have two of them on our ship and our max sustained exhaust gas temp is 1200º F. At full speed/load the engines are usually between 1000 - 1100 degrees.

my 3406E cat set at 550 will pull all day and stay below 1100, but we don't have long enough hills to make it climb over 1000 very often.

I'm running amsoil 5W40 just to stretch out the change interval and provide better cold starts and it stays in the truck for 600 hours with a filter change at 300 hours

DD 15 running Delo 15w40 or shell 15w40. Pulling 166,000lbs rarely ever see pyro over 700 degrees. Pulling steep grades will hit 950.

My 93 Western Star with the N14 motor pulling 80k lbs average, usually heats up to maybe at best 850 degrees on a steep hill. Cruising at 65, it hovers around 650-700. Only builds 28psi of boost on a hard pull. Cruising it averages about 7ish psi.
