B20
$3.30/gal!? It kills me that people are good enough to try to do their part for society by running biodiesel, and the companies stick us with these crazy prices. If people have noticed, bio prices have gone up incrementally with dino diesel prices. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the price of WVO or SVO that they use to make the biodiesel does not directly correlate to the price of crude oil. In fact I can't see any relation whatsoever. So in my mind, they are simply gouging consumers because they CAN charge a bit more than dino diesel for this 'designer fuel.' Sure, rip off the guy trying to help out his country. I find it pretty annoying. Last year I paid 1.85/gal and was annoyed, the year before it was $1.35.
Just got my first take of Biodiesel, I think its B20. It was only $2.18 a gallon......
I have been getting 14-18 MPG right now using just plan Diesel, and will keep you all updated on how it does. I hear that most of the Rape seed comes from Colorado, is this true?
This is the info the station gave me Blue Sun

Most bio is made from soybean oil or waste vegetable oil/tallow. Most of europe's biodiesel is RME, rapeseed methyl ester, which is derived from rapeseed, a cousin of canola. As far as I know, no bio is made from rapeseed over here.
$3.30 per gallon. YEP ! The prices are not shwon on the pumps either. The place that sells BIO in my area requires membership and you get what looks like a credit card to swipe. Imagine how I felt when I saw the bill for the first time. The difference in price between 100 and 20 is $1.00. Like I said they did refund my $ as it was their mistake. I thought I was buying B20.
Bought 5 gallons of B20 Wed. night just for the tractor. The BIO is really nice stuff. It is very lubricious. When you get it on your fingers and rub them together you can tell its really slippery. Should be just what the doctor ordered for the VP44 guys, since it does not like low sulfur fuel. Also when you are on a tractor sitting behind the exhaust pipe the BIO sure smells better !
The price should be about $2.40.
