Anyone in Fort Worth, Burelson, or Tarrant County Texas

...that works on trucks, diesel or not. Ford or Dodge preferred.

I need a job! I am wanting to work on trucks, (nothing really bigger, because I don't know big rigs, but I'd be willing to learn). I've been to a Community College for 2 years and completed their automotive program.

I have a job currently, but now that I'm done with the program I want to use my knowledge so I don't lose it. And because I need a better paying job, because of of getting married in December.

Does anyone know of anything? Thanks!

I know you don't really know big trucks, but Ft Worth Freightliner is hiring. To me, big trucks are a lot easier to learn and easier to work on.

There is a shop in Joshua. It is right down 174 from burleson about 3 miles. It is also right by my house. It is called Diesel Dynamics. 817-558-5849 . They always look busy when I go by there. They work on all diesel trucks but not so much semis.

There is also one in the makeing in cleburn right down the road from joshua. Diesel innovations I cant really tell you to much about them, but I know that the guy is in the middle of building a new shop. His name is Bobby and his # is 817-528-2166.

Hope this helps.

You might check with your local Ryder Truck rental. I forget where I saw diesel mechanic help wanted. Good luck, let us know what you find.

After your tech school you may be able to get into continuing education with more manufacture specific education. I know international has a program. And it looks like there might be a school in Odessa you could get to. I know that the last thing you want to think about is MORE school at this point, but it will pay off for you if you go for it. It did for me, though I went with BMW.

Oh yah, and if you just cant stomach school anymore (I would totally understand, I cant stand it myself) you may just want to check out Firestone for a job. VERY good benefits for someone just getting out of tech school. They pay for your ASE testing no matter if you pass or fail, and then cut you a nice bonus check for passing (not to mention a pay raise for being "more" qualified). Its not diesel but its good experience and there is plenty of money to be made.

Well I'm alright with more schooling because I am currently still in college. I'm going to get my Bacholars in Graphic Design.

Whats a average months pay for a 40 hour week person at Firestone, or does anyone know? I've known two people that have hated working there...so I want to make sure it'd be worth it.

And I can't go to any tech school that'd require me to relocate, because of my fiancee where she is going to school.

I did some figuring how far they'd be away, and they are little to far out there. The way 174 is, it'd take 20 minutes for me to get there from where I'll be living (just about 2 miles from 35 on Renfro). Which means the 35 minute drive to school would be about 55 minutes from work. I can't do that....

Thanks though.

I'm still going to check out Firestone.

I worked at firestone as a tech about 6 years ago and back then the pay was horrible. Left and went to work at a dealership and made $6 an hour more out of the box.

Dealerships are going to make more then Firestone, no doubt. Thats why I went with BMW for cars to work on. I was offered 19 an hour flatrate starting (keep in mind thats in the DC area and costs are higher here) as an ASE Master Tech, but with one ASE you should be able to get 16 flat rate around here. The bigger thing is not how much an hour but how much business the shop has. If you get paid 25 bucks an hour but you only do 5 hours a day, you aint making any money. Talk to the techs there and see ask how many hours they are turning a week.
