They ought to get you right OVER that rush-hour traffic. 
When you get that 8x8 stuck, I doubt that your buddies CTD will be able to pull you out. How does the old saying go? Something about a 4wd will get you stuck twice as far from help as a 2wd will? I assume that an 8wd will get you stuck twice as far from help as a 4wd and 4 times as far from help as a 2wd will then?
With that front approach angle (or lack thereof), that front bumper has to be built like a bulldozer blade. Fun videos.
