800 Ft/lbs 6.7 Cummins

I've been traveling for a while with the fiver so, I don't know if this has been posted. I did a search and did not find anything.

The 6.7 used in the new Motorhomes is rated at 800 ft/bls of torque. So, its here, Ferd don't have nothing on this and for sure you won't find a Ferd 6.7 in a Motorhome.

Get you some of that !!!!!!!!

Why is everyone so obsessed with hp and torq numbers? So what if Ford or Chevys are higher, All i know is either of my 2 Dodges will pull anything I have ever tried with no problems. Let ford and chevy brag all they want, as they know neither of them will ever outlast a Cummins

Its not like 800 ft-lbs is hard to get. Any programmer will put you well past 800 ft-lbs. Its a bragging point from the factory, thats all.

I honestly hope that they keep the numbers where they are at now and continue to refine the fuel economy and transmission setup.

Easy...add SCR and the fuel economy should come back. Also won't get as much fuel in the oil.

x2 my 01 is at 335/800 now and it will pull anything I got up any hwy and never kick out the cruise control .If Cummins wanted to the 6.7 would be pushing 1000lbs but first get the MPGs back up in the mid 20s and that would be something to crow about

My old 95 is at 378/998 and smoke free...it's only the EPA crippling these trucks, in power AND economy!

I'd take 300 HP if I got 800 ft/tq.

If they told me that the I could have 800lb of tq and 400 hp or 350hp and 650 tq, I would take the 400/800 in a heart beat. I am actually waiting for them to bump up power so I can buy a new cummins.

Last I checked you can't see Nox and all trucks that don't have a Dpf will produce soot, I idle my stock 98.5 which will never smoke next to my shed which is white, and you can see the soot mark on the side. We get trucks at work with 300k on them that have DPFs, and the stacks will have no soot, that means the air coming out is pretty soot free. I don't like it anymore then the next guy, just saying.

So what exactly is the problem with soot? Nox I can understand it is a problem, but I don't see what the problem with soot is?

And yes...ALL my trucks produce soot

I honestly don't know, I would assume it is because soot can stay suspended in the air and cause breathing problems, it "appears" dirty. I like alittle black smoke personally. I'm by no mean a tree hugger.

Soot settles back to the ground...unless your standing right in the cloud, you won't be breathing anything worse than regular old dust!
