Other than the Chebby wheels, looking good.

Not a chebby fan..... No issues fitting them, eh ? Would have thought that the wouldn't have fit at all....

As others have said, I would rather start with an old, weathered nearly rust free farm truck, than to have to replace everything due to rot.

Looks better already..

Yea the bumper conversion looks awesome. I really do love these trucks because there are so many of the gassers on the road parts are plentiful.

Im originally from the Midwest and I have experienced the rust belt vehicles first hand. People are really good at hiding it. First hand experience when I bought my first car haha. Lil sneaky Swiss cheese cover up.
Dude, relax, we ALL have done it, it takes a while to get into the groove.

Just settle in and enjoy the ride man!

The truck is starting to look presentable. I bought some 1st gen hub caps for this thing after I find some steel 8 lugs. Chipped away at a few other things.

Been looking for a minute. Picked up some nice 2nd gen wheels, caps and some Ford 8 lugs similiar to the dodge steels. Ive never found any dodge 8 lugs on Craigslist.

Eyes peeled for tires now. 235 85 16 I'm thinking

Last week I chased some leaks. First up was the upper and lower pitman arm shaft seals.
For some reason the previous Mechanic had some extra seals and washers stuffed up there Haha.
I Found a cheap small spectre air filter. I wanted to see how much it would bump my MPG. I pulled the original intake boot and the Silencer ring was a pleasure to see.
Lil red filter bumped me from around 15 average to 18 average. I'd like to get some cooler air coming through there eventually with some venting

Tried to pull this job off last week too. I think my high pressure switch is bad. Compressor wasn't engaging. I also tried bridging the switch to turn the compressor on but nothing. I have a high pressure switch now. I'm gonna have to read all the a/c threads unless someone can answer a few questions for me here.

Looks good. I'm into it.
I still need to tilt my bumper down or up a bit depending how you look at it

Bare wires on the high pressure switch male plug. Most likely burned out the switch
Swapped the switch in the high pressure line, cleaned up the wires on the connector and Boo ya! 43 degrees

Thats some cold air, man.....

BTW,

I always look up "new posts", and that's when something you've posted about your ride comes up.

A lot of guys simply look up their forum... you know, like I do for the 1st gen forum. It doesn't show your thread here, as yours is actually posting in "General diesel discussion".

Ask Lary Ellis to move your thread to the 2nd gen platform. Maybe you'll get more hits..
