2nd gen vs. 3rd gen

In comparison, between a 2002 24v and a 06 5.9 CR which truck would be faster? Thats with both trucks being stock besides a tuner/programmer and exhaust?

I wonder since i keep seeing the 2nd gens being just as quick in the quarter mile for some reason.

def the 06..... comes stock with more hp and tq, i wanna say they weigh alittle more but that doesnt matter. 3rd gens take better to programmers/tuners than the 2nd gens, from what i have seen.

The 06 would definately be easier to make power with quickly. The 02 can be made to be very powerful, but not as easily.

If you want power go with the 06. But one thing that the 02 has that the 06 don't..........is that awesome 2nd gen sound! I love that distinctive 2nd gen 24 valve sound and exhaust note. The 3rd gens sound more "raspy" to me.
