22.5" Alcoa Wheel Center Caps
22.5" Alcoa Wheel Center Caps
I have these wheels on my truck and am very happy with their performance, but the chrome center caps have started to corrode. They are very poor quality and I would like to replace them, but I have not found a source. Do any of you know of one?

I had the same problem with mine. I went to the local Freightliner dealer and they matched up mine with theirs. They had the same size and in stainless steel, so no corrosion problems. They were about $22.00 each if I remember correctly. They also had the chrome for about $13.00 each. Good luck with your search. If you can't find them at a local dealer, try a large truck stop with a chrome shop. They have everything there.

say i was thinking of puttting on some 22.5 on my truck and a tire guy told me that they ride real ruff. was wondering how they ride plus what air pressure ya'll run in them
In normal use, they are supposed to be inflated to very high pressures 100 PSI +, but that doesn't work in a relatively light truck. I run 55 in front and 50 in the rear. The ride is a little stiffer, but because you are in the center of a long wheelbase, it isn't noticable. The tires have very stiff sidewalls and the tire never squirms under the rim in hard turns. This is very noticable in the lack of ANY tire wear. I have run mine for slightly more than a year. The truck actually corners much better. I lose mileage at lower speeds, but pick up mileage at higher speeds. They weigh more and the increase in unsprung weight is noticable, but the Bilsteins helped some. I do expect a lower life for the ball joints. I did check the tire hardness and expected a much harder compound, but was preasantly surprised when they measured out at 52 on the Shore "A" scale, which was the same as the factory rubber. The wheels were delivered with a self balancing compound inside, so when starting a trip, they are out of balance, but it soon balances out. I don't like that and if I had to do it again, I would use a conventional wheel balance instead of the dynamic compound. I was also pleasantly surprised in the increase in road grip, even on snow and ice. With the Banks kit, I had no trouble spinning the duallies under WOT. Can't spin the wheels now. These 22.5 tires stick like glue.
