2006 Mega cab pics...
I can see why HorseHauler would want a long bed as well as rv haulers . A lot of drivers sleep in the truck although it does not meet the specs for DOT sleepers . RV haulers are told not to use the sleeper berth line on their logs unless they have a DOT sleeper . ( Talk about long trucks , have you seen those F-350 crew cabs with a sleeper behind them ? ) I will not run Iowa because if you run a Quad Cab DOT will put you out of service if you are commercial and can't produce motel receipts .
I also prefer the long bed, for looks and utility. If I ever had a short bed the only place I'd ever use it and be OK with it is in McDonald's parking lot (and Walmart, but I'm trying hard to never go to the place again). Otherwise when using the truck as a truck, I'd ALWAYS wish I had a long bed.
Plus, SB's just don't look right. They look out of proportion from a side view. You have 75% of the length is the hood and cab with a Ford SuperCrew looking bed hanging off the back of the cab. With a long bed the bed looks almost the same length as the hood and cab area and the proportions look much better.

It will be offered in a 1500, 2500, and a 3500. And my local dealer says that the dually will be available. The long bed version will not be available because it is built on a long bed frame.
There will be a long bed and a dually. I got some valid info on that. Expect it late 06 production which will be fall 05. 06 production starts very soon. April 29 was the cut off in Canada for 05 orders.

I can't believe the warm response you guy's are giving this thing? I think it's stupid!
I must be in the minority, but I still prefer the LOOK of the standard cab P/U.
It's not considered practical for using as a Grocery Getter like Americans insist on on using SUV's and Trucks for. Bigger is better I guess. Good luck fitting into (or turning into) a parking space at Home Cheapo with that Limo looking thing. Shrt Boxes stink for anyone who does any measureable about of home improvement, dropping the gate to fit ANYTHING is annoying to me. Yes, probably great for the horse haulers market, but what percentage of the market do they include?
