my friend has a big commercial truck with a 1984 international dt-466ci anyone know about these motors? driving yest. and it lost power and quit, like no fuel. waited awhile and then it started with no problems. batteries are new. going to try new fuel filter. any help would be appreciated.

 

its a very good block...as good as the cummins...but i dunno what pump they were running back then.....and 1984???? that makes it pretty darn old...what kinda mileage on that motor? prolly a rebuild but still?

 

I believe it is original and he told me it was the sought after last year of the mechanical pumps I have not found out how succesful the changing of the he said 2 fuel filters

 

1984 is deffinately not the last year of the mechanical pump, it has a Bosch pump, but it could have a distrubuter type model 100 I believe like the International tractors or it could have an inline pump like a P or an A.

Also try the electrical connections on the shutdown selinoid, if it has one.

Our 1982 International has a DT-466A in it with the model 100 pump, set at an anemic 160 hp.
