awesome idea, but theres no way i would buy that truck. theres no telling who did that and what kinda job they did on it. if they are just "welded together" then your askin for trouble. if they took the time to do it right they would have said "fabricated" or something along those lines.... scary :eek:

And what exactly is the matter with AMC Gremlin engines? You have an option between a bulletproof 232 or 258 I-6 or a 304 V-8. Neither of which are arguably inept at propelling a 2500 pound vehicle down the road. And, since AMC V-8's were all the same block, nothing prevented a 304 being replaced with a bolt-in 360, 390 or 401. [dummy] (And the 1978 4-cylinder is not a Gremlin engine...)

AMC WILL RISE AGAIN!!!


(And as for the truck on eBay, if it isn't held together with bubblegum, then I think it is absolutely awesome.)

I'd have to agree - that is one ugly mis-conception, but I guess he runs what he brung.

Dodge did similar with the 70's crew.

Been smoother to shorten the 4-door wagon, maybe using the rear quarter of one of those cabs.

Exactly what I was thinking! I hate the lines... But I like the idea.

I am about to start a project like that... 48 International Pickup on a 77 IH Scout II chassis... V8 auto 4X4.... Just have to shorted the bed 6-8 inches... I would love to find the Factory Nissan Diesel to go with that package... but I already have the gasser motor.

I am building almost the same kind of rig. However, it is a 41 Dodge COE (CabOver Engine). I plan to use it as a 5th wheel hauler as well. The difference in my project, besides the snubb nose, will be to have enough room behind the crewcab to place my UltraClassic Harley crossways. That way I will have all the toys I want right with me when I travel. I will also match the truck sides up flush rather than just "butt" them together. I am currently considering a tandem axle in the rear as well. My hope is to use a 12V and a manual tranny. I have all the parts except the engine and tranny. If you have a line on these items (engine and manual tranny) for reasonable price (read cheap! [laugh] ), please let me know. I am in the northwest (seattle area) wynn_r@yahoo.com
