12valve block 24valve head?

Is it possable (within reason) to install a 24 valve head on a 12 valve engine? Seems like this would be the best of both worlds. Dependability of the 12 valve and the air flow of the 24 valve. If a 7100 pump can be installed on a 24 valve engine why can't a 24 valve head be installed on a block built for a 12 valve head?

injector location requires a different piston

you're much better off porting a 12v head... the valvetrain is MUCH cheaper

Current head is cracked so I'd have to get another head anyway.

yes, I'd recomend using Common Rail pistons... you'll need custom injection lines and custom injectors. I would still recomend going w/ a ported 12v head for simplicity's sake. the RV valvesprings have proven to over 4,000rpm and they're like $100 a set... a good set of 24v springs will cost $500-600

do what you will, I'd LOVE to have a p-pumped CR block. those pistons will support a LOT of timing!
