The cab/chassis should be on the lots within the the next month or so. That's the one that's going to be interesting. I wonder how people felt in 1997 about the new 24 valve electronic controlled diesel coming out the next year?

Or my scenario
May 98: two Identical trucks in color and options on the lot with the exception of the one being a 24v and the other a 12v, which to choose? The new ones gotta be better right

That's how I picked my '05, up to a point...

I said no to the on-the-lot or "orderable" '06s - too much brand-new factory stuff (I don't like to pay to be on the "cutting edge" of newness - no beta testing for my $$$ purchases! )

I chose the latest '05 with the G56 over some nice earlier NV5600 '05s, as soon as I found out they were aluminum, and figured the factory had some darn good reasons to replace such a venerable unit as the NV with one Mercedes has been using in their medium trucks for years.

What about fuel system?? Still common rail?

When will this engine be available on dealer lots?? I want to test drive one.

If I have to get a new one, maybe I should be looking at a 6.7

Sounds like fun

Wish I knew more about this engine.

Would hate for it to turn out like the 6.0

6.7L has a slightly larger bore(107mm v 102 mm) and a slightly longer stroke(124 mm v 120 mm) than the current 5.9L. It will utilize a common rail injection system but will run a higher fuel pressure with a new CP3. New for the 6.7 will be cooled EGR, a variable geometry Holset turbo and a self-cleaning particulate filter.

IMHO. I really thought the 07's could use a better badging and there taillights look alittle like the Duramax's.Why couldn't they just leave them alone?
