What kind of "magic" is he doing to your truck Joseph?

I finally got new tires today. My takeoffs were as smooth as a prom queens' thighs.......

We need to plan for a spring GTG..

Im getting new meats this week also. What did you end up getting Len? Im going with the Interco Vortrac 35/12.50/17 load range "E". $1051 out the door. Dont know that I can beat that for an E tire in that size. Only other option is the Toyo Muds and they are almost $300 a piece. We will see. Tires are so new that there really arent even any reviews out on them yet. Guess I will be a guinea pig.

Sorry I couldn't get any extra mpg out of your truck Joseph. Hope everything else is going well with it. Wanted to let everyone know that i am trying to get up another dyno day. I took some heads down the Lamar Walden's shop in Doraville today to have some porting and orings cut and he said he may be interested in hosting a diesel dyno day. Its on Buford Hwy. Really easy to get to. Don't have any dates in mind. But let me know if you guys have any ideas. I'll be talking to him more on the subject next week and hopefully get some pricing.

That is ok Ashley. The valve adjustment quieted the engine down. With diesel hitting 3.70 per gallon here I believe I might have to sell her and find something more economical...

Len, I think you are going to take some flack for calling it a Chevy! Thats an old Dodge my man! Anyhow it looks nice but probably gets 9 mpg with the age, weight, lift, tires, gas motor. Not going to be beneficial in the long run if it is a gas motor and if it is a diesel, why not just keep what you have. Your call, your cash.

Vehicle Description

1980 Dodge Powerwagon crewcab. It has new white paint, however there are few small runs. There are no dents any where . The entire underside of the truck is completely painted in with por-15: front and rear ends, frame and under the cab and bed. The truck has 18x10 inch aluminum Centerline wheels. The tires are Nitto Terra Grapplers and have alot of tread left. The gear ratio is 4:10. It has a brand new 440 motor with maybe 5000 miles on it. It is basically stock with a good set of Doug Thorley headers. The transmission and transfercase have been completely rebuilt. The trans has a B&M shift kit with a deep aftermarket oil pan. Both the front and rear axles have been completely gone through with new bearings and seals. It has a dual steering stabalizer system on the front. All the brake system is new: stainless steel brake lines, master cylinder and booster new pads and calipers in the front and shoes in the back. The truck has a completetly new A/C system with the newer style compressor, new lines, and condenser. Blows very cold. It has a new radiator, carb, billet distribitor, msd box and plug wires. The interior of the truck looks great. It has a newer model dash with ramcharger reclining chairs and the console with deep cup holders. The seats were not recovered cause they were good original ones. It has a tilt column. It has all new gaskets on the doors and windows. The windsheild is new no cracks. It has new carpet. Has an Alpine cd player.

Peace,
Joseph

a 440ci motor! I dont think you will come out ahead just becuase gasoline is less expensive. What kind of mileage is claimed on that vehicle?
