Yellow Diesel Fuel?

Just took a trip from San Antonio Texas to Dayton Ohio and back. Fueled up in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio. AR and TN have very yellow fuel, OH slightly less yellow, but still distinctly yellow. Back home in SATX the diesel is almost colorless. What Gives? Fueled at Pilot, BP, Shell, and Walmart out of TX.

Could be like our fuel here in Illinois, it is more a fluorescent green than green. Very easy to say it is yellowish as you put it in, pull a little jar and it is green.

You may have bought some good old LSD, as some Flying J's still sell LSD or I should say did so a few months back. The ULSD that I get in my area some times is all most clear like water.

Are you sure it was diesel and not urine?

I burn about 2k gallons every week and it comes in all different colors. All burns the same. Lately it's been extremely green, before that it was clear and sometimes brown. I don't care if it's pink as long as it burns.

It has to do with the entrained contaminents and the age of the fuel.
We do a Clear and Bright every time our ships fuel (or at least that's what the regs say) I've never done one but I've had to certify 100s. I've seen almost water clear JP5 from a tanker in the middle of the carribean and stuff that looked loke CocaCola from the fuel depot of a midwest army depot.
I've been told that as long as your filter is good it won't make a real difference.

I remember when LSD was a nice foamy green. Now its clear. But cause of my two stroke formula, I noticed its blue when I changed my fuel filter last week =D

It has always been my understanding the preferred color for diesel fuel is clear. I have run greenish variations without problems. The only color you want to avoid however is red - for legal reasons!

Why would you want to avoid red because of legal problems? I know of a local township that uses it in all their trucks and diesel powered equipment.

Red is farm fuel. It isn't taxed so you are not susposed to run it on any public road.
