Tips for Better Fuel Economy??

Hey in a few months I'm going to be getting my dad's '00 3500 CTD. Next year I will be going to college and I'll be using it for a daily driver. Right now it is only getting about 14 mpg. It's a 5-speed and has a 3.85 rear end. The only mods it has that would hurt mpg is the EZ Edge it has (60 hp chip). I would like to take that out and put a tuner so I can get better mileage when I need it and the power when I need it. My question is this; how can I get 24, 25 even 30 MPG? It has the regular small mirrors and no visor that would be robbing fuel. I read putting accetone will help fuel economy. How much accetone do I use? What else can I do to make a tank last longer?

Thanks alot
Cody

You've got fuel system problems if it's only getting 14. After you have the fuel problems resolved, have the valves adjusted. Open up the intake and exhaust. Drive with moderation. Oh I've got 21mpg pulling a 30ft trailer going 65mph.... Denver to Kansas City... Down hill with a tail wind. That was in one of my 97's with 3:55s.

Tree DR,
Are you talkin opening up the intake and exhaust by porting? I can normally see 15-17mpg driving Miss Daisy in my '05 3500 DRW, but I don't know about getting much more than that. 15-17 would be average over the tank. I can see 18-20 out on the road at the speed limit. Having my Banks 6-gun set on 4 seems to be the best mileage.
