straight wmo ?
straight wmo ?
can you drain the oil from your truck into a clean container and just dump it right in your tank? or do u have to filter it through something, and if you do can you go through like a coffee filter?
Sure. If you change your fuel filter every other oil change you will probably never have it plug up.
I work my WMO off in the ol' Benz. The fuel pump is darn near bulletproof, and the IDI design doesn't seem to run any different even with nearly half a tank of WMO.

There is no straight answer .
To start , what filters are you using ?
Some ex streams to make a point , if you were using a cheap oil filter maybe 20+ micron , and a cheap fuel filter 15+ micron .
What you are filtering out is particles / mostly carbon = abrasives .
Imagine that you are going to sand some old barn wood , to make something out of , you do not want to start with 600 grit paper , it would take you forever to get it sanded , you would start with 30 or 80 grit , so you would not have to sand so long .
Now reverse that , how long do you want your pump to last ?
Use the fine git so it lasts longer .
I have 2 oil bypass filter systems , one new Amsoil , on the truck , an old one for cleaning what I use for fuel .
A main oil filter , around 10-15 micron , then through the bypass [ 2 micron ] , then after draining oil , run through my older bypass [ that has the old filters from the last change , then that is pumped into a centrifuge [ 1/10th micron ] .
You can do what ever you want , but also do you want to have your fuel system last a long time ?
I notice that the engine runs a little quieter & smother with wmo [ average 30% ] , but bio-diesel is even more quite & smother .
I also only collect wmo for other diesels , no gas engine wmo - because of more acid like .

I used to filter it first, but now I take the oil drain pan out from underneath my truck and pour it straight into the truck's tank. Never clogged a fuel filter, and I don't change it that often either.
For the last 5-6 years I've run WMO in various ratio's as high as 90% WMO/Dino but I've always filtered my oil prior to pumping it into my truck through a 2 micron filter. I do believe that if you are only talking about 2 1/2 gallons fresh out of the engine into a nearly full tank of Dino that you should be fine since the oil filter is also filtering if the pan you drain into is clean & it goes right into the tank so as not to catch dirt sitting in the shop.

John if all the WMO you use is prefiltered down to 2 microns then I would think it might be the acids in the WMO. I don't personally worry about the wear issue as the savings will more than offset the increased wear due to the use of WMO.
we got a 50 gallon tank.we run 50/50 .of motor oil and diesel.but we filter it first in to portable diesel tank.then it get pumped in to tractors and diesel heaters.and so far its pretty good
