Question on Bio Diesel

Do you have to have anything special on your truck to run B20 or do you just pour it in like you would normal diesel fuel? Now that the price of #2 is about the same (or higher) than B20, I'm thinking of giving it a try.

Just poor it in. You should be good to go. I would keep a new fuel filter handy just in case. Bio is known to clean out the lines well.

Just be careful of the gel points, biodiesel will gel at a higher temperature than diesel (i think that its something like 40F), if you mix it with diesel or kerosene you should have a lower gel point.

I'm running a mixture of B99 and D2 right now, somewhere in the B50 range. So far the truck is running good.
So Hoss, where are going to get it up there? I think there are 3 or 4 places in the DFW area that sells bio now.

I don't know yet. I know Carl's Corner down south of here sells it, but that's a bit of a drive from Lewisville. What places do you know of that sell it? That was my next step....finding folks that sell it.

I'm sure this next question has already been hashed out in this forum, but I'm too lazy to do a search so I'll just ask it here. So, what are the benefits of running bio diesel?? It's not price as far as I can tell, so there must be a benefit to using it.

The biggy is you are supporting American farmers instead of Middle Eastern Sheiks or Venezuelan oil barons.
(even though most US oil comes from the US)

Well...THAT is a good reason.

I see quite a few people are running it in their 3rd Gen trucks. I assume that it's safe for the common rail fuel systems??

Hoss,
This site seems up to date for Texas bio dealers.
