Name your $/gallon
Diesel is at $4.259 in my little one-horse town. It was just a day or so ago that market price per barrel went above $110 and before they can get it out of the ground and shipped for refining, etc they blow the price up.
I hear via a few reliable sources that the tankers/boats that haul oil are sitting off shore loaded to the hilt, stacked up like a floating parking lot, and some ports are all but empty while the floating parking lots are waiting for oil to hit the roof before they finally have to go in and get unloaded - now what's that politics about - profiting way above where their loads should have been eh? Some game being played at OUR EXPENSE.

The tough part is, with the latest financial "crisis"
, it's a lot harder to take out a second mortgage to buy fuel!
BTW - the tankers usually have to wait to offload in port until there's storage capacity made available - the refineries in the US are blend saturated. We export 15% of our refining capacity...

Well, I filled up this morning at the local Murphy Oil (Walmart). $3.85 per gallon. I was suprised, everybody else is around $3.99+.
$80 for 5 weeks of driving, guess it's not too bad.

After converting we are seeing prices of about US $4.47/gal here about an hour east of Vancouver.
Considering that this is the land of "tax 'em 'til they bleed" it isn't that bad in comparison to what some SOB (south of border) users are reporting for prices. Now... having said that, they still suck big time.
Time to start a little peanut plantation in the back yard.....
