Was surprised to see diesel drop to $2.79 and gas down once more to $1.79.

Here in Fort Knox Ky
Gas $1.76
Diesel $2.82

I would just like it to get back to when diesel was cheaper than gas. Will we?? I doubt it.

I hope market forces will lower the cost of #2 below unleaded once again.

I'm looking forward to <$2.00/gallon...

i heard somewhere that the reason why #2 is still higher than gas is because of the hurricanes this past summer that wiped out the refineries causing a gas shortage and that refineries today are still trying to play catch up with gas and not focusing so much on diesel. just what somebody was telling me.

btw, saw 2.84/gal today

???????? This is what I don't understand! How in the world is diesel cheaper in Cal. than in Texas? Just a few months ago their fuel was like $1.00 more than ours.

jjoiner, I have been thinking the same thing!!! It was always that CALIF was one of the most expensive! I wonder if it has to do with the amount of foreclosures in our state ( The highest) and also our states economy is the worst in the nation I believe???? Very interesting. If you put the zip code 92545 into gasbuddy.com that is my area so you can see I am telling the truth! LOL

Our price is at $2.74 today. Heck little if any of our diesel or gas comes out of TX. Here in IA it comes from MN and the oil its made from comes from Canada. That is unless MN is low then gas or diesel is trucked in from one of the near by states of South Dakota, Missouri or Nebraska.

Not to mention the hippies wont let any drilling or refining go on there.

Ive heard from several people that one reason diesel is higher now because there is so much higher demand for gasoline that they are running everything back through the "cat cracker" multiple times un order to get the most ammount of gasoline out of every batch. This of course means there is less diesel left over. Ive also heard there have been converters set up to take ULSD and convert most of it over to gasoline.

Near me I can get it for 2.59/gal with my .03 discount.
