16 oz of 2 stroke is a pretty good amount. as far as i know the only half year models where there was a difference is the 04/04.5 and 07/07.5

and be happy you dont have to worry about all the vp44 problems the 99-02 guys have to worry about

when did the 12v/24v change take place? was that another half year thing like 98/98.5?

Yeah, I FEEL lucky!

Okay if 16oz. is plenty, what amount of Diesel Klean would be good? Or should I even use it each fillup?

Every third tank I run 16oz of PS. For the others 16oz of TCW3.

I have read a few threads that MMO is not too good to burn. The TCW-3 seems highly recommended, along with some other additive, PS, Lucas, take your pick. TCW-3 is about $8.50/gal at Wally World.
A tow truck driver recommended putting ATF as a fill in the FF at filter change time, cleans injectors. Any thoughts on that? Seems like not a great idea, but maybe a little will not hurt?

98.5 was the first "year" of the 24 valve.

Not a good idea at all, if you ask me. ATF is not designed to be burned at all. In fact ATF is specifically engineered not to burn so that it keeps your tranny alive. No way would I use it. At least 2-stroke oil is meant to burn in an internal combustion engine.

That's what I was thinking to.

Never use ATF as an additive. Modern ATF has too many additives.

I think what I'll do is make up a few quart bottles of cocktail and use 16oz TCW-3 and 4oz DK at each fill. MUCH easier to keep track that way.

And I can get the TCW-3 gallon and the DK quart out of my back seat area (which is tool/part area 99% of the time)

So far so good..Engine seems a wee-bit quieter, smokes a little bit more under moderate acceleration, mpg's are the same. It seems to have a little less power than when I'm running PS in it. What do you all think about mixing PS and 2-stroke together to get the best of both worlds???

I think many people on this site are doing just that. Most additives, like PS do not have any lubrcity, so the 2 stroke does that. This seems to be a "Best Practice", nothing to lose.

Is Power Service Diesel Kleen a water Emulsifier or DEmulsifier? I am running the Stanadyne Lubricity Formula for lube and Power Service every couple of tanks for injector cleaning. I want to make sure I am not working against myself here.

Not true. All PS diesel products contain a lubricity additive.

Well, I just got done submitting my secure order, UPS ground shipping will most likely not get it here by the weekend, but hopefully b4 I need to fill my tank again, shipping is , as usual , killer, 10 bux for a gallon, takes the cost to close to 50 bux for a gallon. maybe if I like it and others are interested locally, we could get a bit organized and all benefit. Not by any means an attempt at a group buy,
