Lets burn furnace oil ....
I am thinking of burning furance oil in my 12 v . The way I see it I,m not worried about luben the pump like in my 24 v , and every one I talk to says its pretty much the same thing , its not stove oil its home heating oil. Some of the truck drivers say when they come to my house to fill up my tank their useing diesel because their out of furnace oil. Go figure . Any input on how it is any different yhan # 2 diesel , Thanks

If or ever they dip me the savings would of paid for 5 fines . Diesel here is $1.25 a liter , whats that about $5.00 a gallon. Screw the tax man , I guess u guys are giving me the green light , the only thing I'm worried about would be a different burn rating that might burn valves or something like that.
There are two grades of furnace oil, #1 and #2.
#1 is used when the furnace tank is outside the home since it gels at a lower temp.
Even though #1 will work in your CTD it isn't the best thing to be using, less power, mpgs and much less lube qualities.
If you are going to use furnace oil use #2, it is most often exactly the same as #2 at the pump.

updated timing cover is the nice replacement you get when you are too slow at fixing the kdp. in my case the stock timing cover warpped not from the kp and leaked so bad they had to put in a new one. it is machined with a step to prevent the dowel pin from coming out

Watch out for fines if you get dipped though. Furnace oil is non-taxed.

Fuel is starting to go back down here. From a high of $3.29 down to $2.69 yesterday. Off road is around $2.19 right now. If I make it up to check on my shop today, I'll be filling up with the red stuff.

It has made a small decrease here too..thankfully!
It was at one time near $3.00/gal (2.98) but it's now $2.59/gal. Hope it continues its downward spiral!

Did you know...
the spike in fuel prices over the last two weeks due to Katrina translated into an over 10 billion dollar unexpected jump in profits for the oil industry?
The price of crude was only up for a few days before going back down below pre-hurricane levels.
