Kerosene instead of #2

So I was thinkin, I use WMO and it runs great, but with the colder weather comin into Georgia, I'm gonna have to start using less WMO in the fuel tank. I'm runnin Kerosene and WMO right now due to there not being enough fuel down here. All the stations are out, it's bout crazy. Lines at the few stations that have fuel in the atlanta area. It's pick and choose, but they always have kerosene right by my house. With Kerosene, when it gets colder will that help the cold starts mixed with WMO when it gets cold and I can still use the same amount of WMO in the tank?? I've run upwards of 80-90% with no problems in hot weather, but right now I'm 50-50 since it's colder in the mornins. preciate it. Just thinkin to myself.

yea it will help but remember kerosene has about no lubercation value so make sure you use something in each tank

I can only tell you from my experience with a CR. I've been up to 70% WMO with #2&RUG with only slight starting problems at mid 40s in the morning. Kerosene will thin out the WMO more so that #2. I would say try it at 75% WMO in the mornings. As it starts to get cooler at night you'll know when you try to start in the morning with longer cranking & rough starting. But she'll run fine once warmed. If it has a harder time starting, just plug it in & add a little extra kerosene directly in the tank to thin it out. Just make sure that you have a fuel pressure gauge so that you're not starting the truck without enough fuel.

The only real way is to try it at 5% increments until you start having problems. If she's been running fine before, she'll keep you happy.

I came up with the 25% since you were running it before & also with me being suckered into DSE (Diesel Secret Energy's) stuff, it state that you use 1/2 the amount of Kerosene as you do #2.

I have been running 10% mostly , but some times when the tank is near empty , I will put in a few gals. , till I get to the station , so up to 80% for short time .
I switched from Rottella 15/40wt to Amsoil 15/40wt , and a dual by pass filter system .
My 1st oil sample showed low TBN 6.? half of new & very high oxygenated , about 30 .
So a little leery of the WMO , but the oil I used was about 50% from gas engines .
But I used an old dual by pass filter system to but into 55 gal drum , then ran through a centrifuge for 3-4 hrs. , so I know its clean .

Where wear metals high too? I am a bit leery of wmo, but have plenty to use. Debating on a waste oil furnace or burning it the truck.
