I was looking into seeing if a small group wanted to get together to make bio in Minnesota some where around the Twin city area, I was looking at using the applesead method [ open source-info and surplus parts] I've got a lot of freinds with restrants for base to make from and have been researching for a couple yrs. but do not have any space, I'm a fultime RVer and plan on building a system that will fit in the bed of P/U , maybe have some room left over.

If you can hold off a few months mabe we can get something going. I'll be moving to the St.Cloud area around December, probly in the mid month.

What are you all paying for fuel up there? It's crazy here in California, some places are 3.60 some are 3.15 it's BS.

Well keep an eye out here or TDR for future suff on this , the price of fuel last week was about 2.75 , it is today 3.15 , this where the free market comes in and I go out , there going make the costumer make there own.

John, Now that our State-backed bio-diesel producing plants are making enough bio, it has been mandated that all diesel sold in MN be B02 blended (2% bio). I'm guessing this will hit all the MN pumps within the next couple months. As more processing plants come online and their combined annual volumes increase, the mandate will be raised up to a B20 (20% bio) blend. Just something to keep in mind so you are able to get your final blend within your desired range... or get the unblended diesel from WI...

I'm looking to get what I want , witch is in order of importance, 1st cheeper[ if mandated it will be more expensive] 2nd sooner [ again if mandated longer] .

I live about a hour south of the cities, In mason City IA. Might not be something that we can hook up on weekly. But we can work on it and perfect the mlethod. I should be going to another class on the 15th in Sully IA Down by des moines

Can fuel addatives be used w/ bio diesel? Or is that a no no.

I'm not sure what you mean , what's the price of fuel there and yes you can use regular additives with bio.

John, there is a place up here in Duluth that is selling B-100. Last I checked they said the price was $3/gallon with taxes included. The regular diesel was about $2.65 at the time. Top get the $3 price then you needed to join the co-op for $50 otherwise $3.25. They lost the site they were selling from and wound up selling out of an old bus. Sounds kinda shakey ta me???

anouther gouger, my experience is that coops are none profit , now that may not be correct but at least share profits and provied members benifits , this model I've seen before and I call it a rip off , I know from research that an individual can make it for as little as a couple hundred bucks and an ongoing cost of about .40 gal. and that can be cut in half , so as I said its a rip , I've found at a web site for finding retail cheaped with no fees.This is why I would be interested in starting a group ,no retail just share costs in time and or effort. http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodi...s/default.shtm

I Pm'd you before and I'm still interested in what you are proposing. I got a strong back, big truck, desire to do it, and an engineering background. I'm all for making a viable fueling station.
