Gas prices go down!
...and diesel goes up. There's nearly a $1 difference between regular and diesel around Tallahassee (diesel being the higher). As John Stossel says: "Give me a break"

So far - and I'm hoping it stays that way - diesel is only $.10-.20 higher than regular unleaded. I'm sure that will change in the next few days, though. It might end up being cheaper to drive my Jeep that gets 14 MPG (on a good day) than the truck.

Left town on 09/15 and returned on 10/01. Travelled through 13 states out to Oregon and California and back to Louisiana. When I left, diesel prices here were around 2.659--cheaper at the local truck stops. When I returned, the going price was 3.199 to 3.299. Gas prices have also gone up around here--over 3 bucks a gallon for premium--still less than diesel.
Diesel prices here were some of the cheapest I found in September. In October, they are now the highest. The upside is that I got better mileage out of the Cummins than I did with either of my previous gas burning tow vehicles.
Is somebody refining diesel out of liquid gold?

Good news! #2 prices dropping from $3.50 down to ~3.19 and I saw one today that said 2.99/gal for #2... That trend needs to continue!
I'll be watching this afternoon to see if the other gougers start to feel guilty and follow suit.
I bet there is quite a run on in-bed mounted diesel fuel tanks right now...

Stopped yesterday by the station I pass every day going to work to top off the tank (at this point, I can't afford to let it get below 3/4 full). They're prices have always been too high to use regularly but I didn't need much fuel. It was 3.619! Thank God it only held 10 gallons.

maybe my memory isnt so good,,,,,,,but i dont remember ever paying more for diesel than gas, even in the winter....its called back door gouging, plain and simple.keeping the gasser masses half satisfied.it probably never crosses their mind they are paying more for everything because of fuel prices.i just wish the truckers still had backbone and would just shut their rigs down in the middle of the roads nationwide.you would see results then................bama

Well, we finally went over $3 a gallon here...
Last night on the way to work, deisel was $2.89... thought to myself, "your running late, get fuel in the morning"......
At 0800, that same station was $3.19
The owner said that the local depot was out of deisel and they were having to have it trucked in from KC.....
Went down to a small town south of here and deisel was $2.99. The station owner told me that yep, the local depot is outo fdeisel, and the next truck he orders is going to cost him about $3 a gallon, and he expects it ot get worse.
thinkin more and more that the extra hour it would take to ride the horse to work would be worth it.......
BTW, reg unleaded was $2.89, mid-grade was $2.65( 10% ethanol), premium was $2.99..
