Diesel Fuel Prices in Mexico?

I know this doesn't help anyone NOT close to the
Mexican border, but how about residents (CA & TX)
close to the Mexican border -
Anyone fueling in Mexico, and if so - how are prices?
[gallons & dollars, pliz]
Thanks,
JC

baja diesel

have not started as of yet but will as soon at the price of diesel here is socal stays over 3 bucks a gallon. currently bounces between 2.93 - 3.09 in the oceanside area where i fuel up.

plan on getting a aux tank for the bed of the truck and making the 60 mile trip once ever month and a half.

costs of the fuel comes out to about $1.78 per gallon based on todays rate of exchange. can change each day given the exchange rate but not by much. don't see the price in baja getting much more expensive as the locals could not afford it.

have received several messages from people using the diesel and they say it is better than calif fuel because the mexican diesel has more sulphur in it and this is good for the diesel CTDs.

Mexican (Pemex, the only choice) fuel prices are closely tied to US prices. In fact they recently passed a law that allows Pemex stations within 100 km of the border to charge US prices even though the rest of Mexico is required to charge the same price at every station.
The Pemex diesel is much better than US, average cetane is 60 while in the US you rarely find it over 40.
Current prices in pesos per litre here http://www.vagabundos.com/hotbox.htm

Forgot Arizona!

Thanks for the info!
Happened to see same thread on TDR.
Thread there (not mine) with about 20 posts -
incl several from Arizona. [Forgot to put AZ in my Q]

Posters said they were having problems with poor quality -
dirt and water in the fuel.
Maybe that's just AZ - as I've always heard better quality
(and cetane) than US.
