Deisel secret (not bio diesel) ???? what do you think?
I've stumbled on a web site claiming they have a "new" way to make a diesel type fuel for less then 50 cents a gallon.
Being ths skeptic i am i wanna see if anyone has even heard of this before or tried it. If so, how well does it work? Or if it even works with Cummins.
this is a quote from their main page:
"DSE has developed a revolutionary method for producing an inexpensive, high performance fuel that can power ANY DIESEL ENGINE and the cost to you is only 46¢ per gallon! That means over $3+ savings for EVERY gallon of our fuel you use!
You have NOT heard of this before. This is an entirely new way in America to make your own fuel from fry oils that takes only minutes. It can be used as a 100% replacement for petrol diesel fuel OR as a fuel offset by using it with petrol diesel fuel in any percentage you desire. DSE fuel and petrol diesel fuel are perfectly compatible.
No heating required at all! No conversions! No dangerous
methanol! Works in NEWER and OLDER diesel engines. Even those with power upgrades."
Love to hear opinions here!!!!!

Well, I sure wouldn't bet my VP44 on the stuff. From what I've read, it's pretty much a scam. I believe they tell you to pour in the DSE and some amount of gasoline. The DSE probably does next to nothing, it is the gasoline that thins out the WVO enough to make the engine run.
My personal opinion, if you want to run veg oil in a 24V Cummins, you need to react it first into quality biodiesel. On a 12V with the P7100, you could install a conversion kit to run it on heated WVO (two tank conversion), but I wouldn't do it with a VP44 and its heat issues.

Do a search on it here. There is a thread about it already with both pro and con postings. I would not run it personally, but its your truck.

I've only read a post from one person who mixes WVO, gas and diesel and with out the DSE secret ingredient. But then he has an old 12V and I think those engines will burn just about any thing. I sure would not use that mix or DSE in any HPCR engine.

DSE's formula is veg oil, 10 % kerosene, 5% gasoline, a bottle of Diesel Kleen with cetane boost and a couple ounces of their additive. I don't think their additive is doing anything but the rest of the formula is pretty standard for thinning veg oil. I'm using it in my 93 D250 (12 valve) and other than rough idle when it's cold, it works very well.
My 2 cents worth is this. I've been running the dse formula for a total of roughly 7000 miles on my 04 vw and about 2000 miles on my dodge. On my dodge I save about $100.00/ tank and about $50/tank on the vw. The costs to produce per gallon are more in the .75 - .80 cents/gal range currently( prices on the website figure $2.00-2.40/gal gas and kerosene instead of $4.00/ gal). I agree with the prior post with regards to the necessity of the DSE additive (smells like a methanol / mothball mixture) .My car and truck seem to run well with less noise on the mixture vs. uls diesel. Thus far the experience that I've had with it seems to be positive as I have recouped my initial setup costs . I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to diesel engines and injector pumps so I can't speak to what damage the mixture may be causing. It was strictly a monetary decision ($22.00/fillup or $122.00/fillup). Simply my opinion.
