Nope, the dye is just for the visual check.
There are chemical tracers for the legal lab check, these chemicals can and do survive combustion and come out of the tailpipe.
They can swap the inside of your exhaust and do a test for the chemical as well.
No dipping required, locking gas caps won't protect you.

To all DTR members
Please do not respond to a banned members posts. They will not reply. There is nothing to be gained by responding to a dead post and it wastes the DTR admins time to police them.
Thank you for your consideration

Look under their username and it will show "Banned" instead of "Registered User".
Directing questions to a Banned user is an exercise in futility as they might be able to read your question, but will not be able to respond either in the thread or via Private Messaging through our website.
As for the responding to a thread comment, it it isn't locked, fire away.

The fact is that SCOTUS has ruled that driver's license, drunk driving, etc. checkpoints are Constitutional. Fuel checks come under this heading. The use of public roadways has been interpreted to be a privilege, not a right, and the privilege comes with restrictions.

You are probably right. My mother allways said you can't fight city hall, I did not believe her and tried it, she was right. If you want to takle the government go right ahead, but they have an unlimited budget and we keep feeding them with more money. You will run out of money long before you beat city hall. It is much cheaper to buy taxed fuel.
