I'm new to this forum and wondering if anyone has any experience with using the 80/20% RUG (regular unleaded gas) and a dash of Diesel Kleen formula for using properly filtered and de-watered used vegi oil in a 12 Valve, with no other modifications, ie. heaters etc. in summer temps??????????
Proceed at your own risk
In my experance and opinion... Not A Good Idea!!
You need to do some studying before you proceed.

My uncle who spent his adult life driving tanker hauling petro products told me that he used to put in about 10 gallons of regular gas in his big tanker truck's fuel tank but that was in the wintertime when it was cold. It raises the cetane level of the diesel making for a lower ignition point, I think is how it works.
The high compression ratios in these CTD engines make burning almost any kind of food oil like soy or peanut possible tho you need a couple of mods I would guess. Those guys buying 5 gallon containers of soy or peanut oil in Costco to be later added to their CTD fuel tanks 10 gallons at a time are doing a basic blending of their fuel. I do the same thing when I add 10 gallons of B-99 biodiesel to the other 20 gallons of premium diesel in my 30 gallon tank looking for around a B-20 mixture. Basically I'm gonna do whatever I need to to try and hold prices down on things I can but in these times most fuels are blended, either before delivery or in personal fuel tanks the way I do it. Thanks guys for the come backs.......
I have done quite a bit of research on the subject, but wanted to see if anyone over here had experience.......
My oil is filtered, de-watered, settled and tested. Good quality, non hydrogenated........
The formula has been talked about a lot on the "Biodiesel & SVO Forum" with few to no negitives given the proper fuel stock to start.
I started with a full tank of Dino at $3.35 per gal here and added 5 gal of the mix every hundred miles so now I am up to a blend of 25 gal of mix to about 7 to 9 gal of Dino in a 34 gal tank.
I can report no problems. More power, smoother running, and I LOVE the smell of energy Independance!!!
I will be installing a see through filter near fuel tak on Monday, as has been recomended as a precaution, and a quick fix, for potential clogging problems.
I changed out the stock filter at 450 miles to see what I could see. Filter was fine. No sign of "greese" or "wax". It was, however, dirty from the bio fuel starting to clean the "crap" out of the diesel tank system, which is to be expected, I am told, when starting down this road. I plan to watch the see through filter and change the main filter in another 1000 miles.
I am doing another three hundred miles this weekend so I will keep you informed.

I‘ve been doing a similar blend in the Benz and I’ve had no problems yet (I‘m on the 5th tank). The car seems to have the same power as before. It does run noticeable quieter and the exhaust smells like the restaurant the oil came from. What you want to be aware of is hydrogenated oil. This is the stuff that has caused a lot of trouble in peoples cars. The mix I use is 80% cold filtered WVO, 10% regular unleaded gas, 10% diesel or kerosene, and I add “Diesel Service” and “Marvel Mystery Oil” according to the label. I have driven with this mix with the temps as low as 28 Deg F. I was real surprised the oil was still liquid at that temp.
