Did it a few years ago (2008 high fuel prices) for the kids school project. Made a couple hundred gallons using an old water heater set up. Used a vacuum pump to help with the water removal as well. The problem we eventually ran into was a reliable/cost effective source of WVO.............the market now demands this resource fetch a premium. We sold off most of the stuff when the kids went to college and now I just run a little WMO when it comes available. If you are in connection with a good supply of WVO I'd say go for it, if not, then it really isn't worth it. Acid, Lye, and Methanol are kind of dangerous to work with so the reward needs to be worth the risk and time put into it.
