Anyone heard of adding platinum for 22% better mileage

Read article in local news paper today, about a company selling a device you hook to vacum port on gasoline engine. Supposedly it adds platinum to the air which increases total burn from 68% to 90%, thus using 22% less gas. I called the number in the paper 1-800 LESS-GAS for some info talked to feller, said they have a 30,000 mile life cycle and a 4 month money back warrinty, they cost close to 200 calms. This was not an add it was an article writtin by the paper said there was 5 yr goverment study that backed up the claim of 22%, for what that is worth. So my question is how do you add platinum with just vacum, and exactly how does this work in theory any way?

Isn't Platinum more precious than Gold? So, Gold is trading at about 400 per oz. now................?

My truck doesn't run on gas, so it won't do much for me either way.

As with other "tornado" or "diesel secret" products, I would have to have a trusted friend tell me how great the thing is for me to even consider it.
There are too many fancy marketing companies out there pushing products.

Nah, the magnetic ones caused too many problems, usually getting stuck to the metric adjustable wrenches needed to install them, being next to the flux capcitor shortened the life of the magnets too.........

HUMMMMMM platinum melts at like 3222 degrees F. Unless you've got one SERIOUSLY hot truck your spittin metal out the back........!

I'm marketing a product that will TRIPLE the MPG gain from the platinum stuff. It's a filter bag you put on your exhaust and monthly you send it back to me so I can tell you the condition of your engine. My first page recommendation If you don't see any improvement then your not using enough platinum.
I'm gonna be rich!!!

I've found a mpg increase of 13% by wrapping a George Foreman Grill around my fuel lines.
If interested PM me for a price that will knock you off your chair.

Good one StateLine.

Here's the down low from the artical:

The manufacturer says that microscopic platinum particles from the liquid are sucked through the line, helping your car burn gas more efficiently and cleanly. In our previous tests, there were no changes in fuel economy after we installed the device in two test vehicles.

The bottom line: The best way to get the most from a tank of gas is to follow the vehicle manufacturer's service schedule.
And I'll add: Drive like you've got some sense. As soon as I get in a hurry and start driving like a fool my #'s go to crap.

I must confess that a friend of mine talked me into trying one of these. They are worthless. Just another pie in the sky ripoff.

1st clue,
If it really worked, every manufacturer would build them into their vehicles.
There would be no way the dealers could keep them in stock, any vehicle getting 22% better milage would fly out of the showroom.

Another dead give away.....

Here we are worrying about how much dirt the air filters seep, and metal readings in the oil. And now you are SUPPOSE to ON PURPOSE now, pump in metal particles into the engine.

You can't be serious
