The annual "gouge on diesel prices" starting early this year.
Here in Kansas, we've been punked since the Coffeyville refinery flood back in June. They used that as a reason to raise prices on diesel. Now that the refinery is back up and running, it's still the same price because of ???
Before the flood, diesel was cheaper than unleaded.

I just read where oil topped $80 a barrel for the first time and they are blaming a storm threat in the gulf coast, closed refineries, and anything else they can think of. To read the gory details click here:

Hurricanes are not a new phanomenon. I don't remember huge price spikes because of hurricanes back in the 80's and 90's.
Anyway, my station just "magically" dropped their price from $2.999 to $2.899. Why you could knock me over with a feather! That was mighty nice of them. So they really wanted a $.16 increase in diesel (from $2.739), so raise it $.26 a gallon and then drop it back so they think we think they are doing us a favor.

Also, news was reporting a small group of ID10Ts in Mexico had damaged a major oil pipeline in several places a couple of days ago.
2.83.9 monday...tuesday 2.99.9...
and the other station Just east of rt 3 is still 2.83.9
Wooo type o 2.75 not 1.75,still cheap though.
Pav
I wouldn't use that as a reason. I'm getting 14mpg on this gasser...and paying only about .10-13 cents less than diesel. Its all about knowing which stations to go to. Remember, unless its a truck stop, any gas station near a highway, above all a interstate/state highway, it'll be higher. I live in a big town, but drive one town over to a smaller one, and pay 10 cents less. Seriously, 10-11 cents cheaper.
