That sounds like a good plan, cause I was pretty sure that you couldn't be a citizen of Texas without a pair of boots or a pickup truck.

$4.00 was my breaking point.
I don't need it so its parked up and I just take it to work on fridays.
Luckily I have an old trooper that will get 23MPG. Wish it was a diesel, though.

I found an old receipt from 1997...$1.33 a gal for premium

I will go as far as 15.00 us per gallon, I can say that if there is a hurricane (a 3+) you will see fuel shoot too around 10.00 a gallon. I should have my bio plant operational in Bogota by this time next year, so maybe this will be my final stop on my long journey, so either way I will be retired and I guess skimming some fuel won't be that big of a deal.

Same as in Arkansas. However, with the addition of at least two rifles of the deer kill'n caliber. That's what I call home.

Problem is, it'll be too late to get rid of it then.

I've actually heard of a few people around here dumping their diesel trucks for $10-$15k less than what they owe for an econbox so they can get back to a $70 fill-up ....they foget that $10k would buy a lot of fuel.

Fuel prices are going to go down...eventually. Those people who traded and lost money will regret that decision. I'm hanging on to my truck regardless. The only people making money right now are the oil companies and the compact car dealers. When oil prices start to plummet, then the only people making money are going to be the dealers that bought diesel trucks off of suckers and those people smart enough to stick it out with their favorite oil burner.

Yep and yeah I'd take Arkansas over Iowa anyday, even if Bill Clinton is from there.

Diesel has DROPPED 27 cents in the past week here in my area. Was up to 5.27 6 days ago. All stations in my area now 4.99 a gallon!!! Not sure why, But I topped off when i was on a half tank today so I didn't kick myself end of week if it went back up....

It's hanging around 4.59 around here. I remember when I saw the futures were going up and the price was like 4.20 a couple weeks ago... and I was too lazy to get off my butt and go fill up that night. Next day it jumped like .40 cents a gallon.

So who wants to take a tanker to ole Mexico and get fuel??? Better yet lets just lay a pipeline down there and pump it in without all the politician takin' their cut...did I actually say that!! 43 cents a gallon is what our taxes are fed/state currently so how can Mexico buy the fuel and sell it for $2.00 a gallon when even with no tax ours runs over twice that. We live on the same planet right?? It all comes from the world oil reserve. SOMETHINGS FISHY HERE!!

Usually takes me about 26 gallons to fill up when the low fuel light comes on. SO back when it was say 3.00 a gallon I paid roughly 78 bucks for a fill up.

Now I fill up 15-20 gallons of WMO.

26 Fuel Cap. - 15 Gal WMO = $50.60 to fill up at a current price of $4.60

26 Fuel Cap. - 20 Gal WMO = $27.60 at the same $4.60 price.

ALl it takes is a little more time and I have a reliable resource that I fill up my 5 gal. jugs at during my lunchbreak. THen 30 minutes at the house to filter it. It's like paying myself an extra $64.40 per hour for fuel.

So, price really isn't a breaking point for me........right now

Just am I willing to input the manhours to not pay for a fuel tank of fuel.

.

i would not sell the truck just because diesel hits $7, i need to see where things level out long term. When everyone is dumping their trucks our values will continue to bomb and we replace on bad economic situation for another
