Hello, I’ve always owned Ford gas trucks, but this spring I’m planning to move up to a diesel. A lot of people keep telling me to go with a Duramax or Cummins, but I’ve always liked the Ford chassis and overall design too much to walk away from it.
I’ve been doing some reading on the 6.4 Powerstroke and it seems like once the DPF and EGR issues are addressed, they can be a lot more reliable. I’ve also been trying to do some 6.4 powerstroke delete cost analysis to figure out what I’d realistically be spending if I had the EGR delete professionally installed. From what I’m seeing, costs can vary quite a bit depending on parts, tuning, and labor.
I know these trucks have a mixed reputation online, with some owners loving them after modifications and others warning to stay away entirely.
