Dually Spacers and You: A proper fitment guide.
Well, I have recently put a set of new tires on my truck, and they being of the size they are, required a spacer between the rear wheels.
A necessary precaution, the spacers must be checked that they clear the factory lugs. If not, they are sure to be issues with fitment, and damage to the lugs, even possibly catastrophic damage, may occur. Here is a few pics of what my setup looks like, and what had to be done to insure proper fitment.
The spacers I purchased were USA made, of steel, not aluminum, purchased from a reputable and well know source for dually spacers. They are 2" spacers.
Here you can see what the factory lugs look like. Notice the small tapered part that has no thread.

Here are the spacers sitting on the factory lugs, no modifications. Notice that the factory lugs are protruding just ever so slightly past the spacer. Bad JuJu.....

This will cause issues. The lugs must be tweaked to provide the proper clearance. Doing so took me all of about 15 minutes. I used a 4" DeWalt grinder with a sanding pad.
The lugs were sanded down approximately 1/8 of an inch. Just to where the taper on the lug starts to angle outward. No threads were harmed in the sanding of the lugs.

Now everybody is happy!
