Cummins Conversions Discuss conversions here. For instance, if you want to put a REAL engine in a FORD, this is where you would talk about it!

RC is done and I am getting another itch.

I tend to get stuck in just the 1st gen section....need to get out more I guess.....

Freighttrain....that thing is amazing! I have always had a soft spot for those town wagons. And being a PW to boot!

I will be watching this one for sure!

I have been having the itch to build a Cummins RC recently too.

Nice work!!! That's a cool old Mopar to add to the collection. Keep you eye out for an older style RC body for me. I'd like to go topless in the summer. My CTD RC has about 6000 miles on it since being on the road BTW.

Man finding a rust free first gen RC is a tough one in our neck of the woods. I almost pulled the trigger on a 77 Trail Duster back in the late Winter but it wasn't in good enough shape.

If you guys didn't know it, and maybe you do. But, the best place to find a 1st gen RC is on RamchargerCentral.Com - Index - Dodge Ram, Ramcharger, Cummins, Jeep, Durango, Power Wagon, Trailduster, all Mopar Truck & SUV Owners. Dodgeram.
I've seen a couple 6bt conversions into poptop RCs.

Hey Freight Train! I just procured a 1974 retired W200 crewcab from the PA Forestry Dept. This Mopar bug is terrible!!! Looks like I'm in the market for a CTD donor! Its a too easy to convert it, to not convert it to 6 in a row! I'm not trying to highjack your thread, I'll start my own once I get pics

Awesome rig you got there. Up in NJ and you didn't even wave hi

Next time, I guess...

Those year trucks remind me of something you'd see on the Simpsons or better yet, the Robot from Futurama (Bender). I guess it's the quad headlights with big eyebrows over top of them.

Can't wait to see what you do with it.

EDIT:

There's a guy on Ebay that has one with the cross ram intake on a 440 in it. Yours will be way cooler than that, and that's way freaking cool..

Man that was a nice looking rust free body. His was a panel wagon instead of a town wagon. I found a similar panel down near DC that was 4wd like mine. It didn't have a factory winch nor was it a 4spd. It was a 3spd on the column. It was primered red back in the 90's and now looked horrible. So some sort of respray would have been a must. Ultimately what sold me on the one I chose was its look. I find the Town Wagon looks better. The panel looks more like a business rig.
