Putting a Cummins in a Duce and a half

Has anyone done this yet? My son has a 1969 Duce and a half that the dual fuel engine is questionable at best. He would like to put a 12valve Cummins in it if it would fit. My guess is it would, easily. Could he use an automatic transmission? :conf:

Should be a cakewalk. I believe the military trucks use SAE bellhousings, so get the right adapter and it should bolt in.

A truck that big would require a truck auto, perhaps an Allsion?

A place like steel soldiers would probably be a better place to get transmission advice.

Bunch of Duce engines

I'll pass this info along also since the engine in my son's truck is running like crap. Probably bad injectors, even though we just had six new (rebuilt) ones installed.
Thanks a bunch.
