ford shift cable on a 47rh
 
anyone running a 47rh in a super duty ford? Im installing a 47rh in a 01 f350 and the ford shift cable is not compatible with the linkage set up on the rh tranny.

anyone solved this problem?

On my 05 F350 /05 Cr 48re I used the original cable had to fab a
bracket near the bell housing for the stationary point of the cable.
It works but the stop point of the cam in the steering column shifter mechanism and the rooster tail in the 48re are different so when you pull it down to drive 30 % of the time you will hit second,not a biggie ,I have wanted to take the cam out of the shifter and grind the drive slot a little longer but never have.

lews930: I'm trying to tie up loose ends on our 99 sd and am dealing with the same thing. it seams to me that you could just change the length of the shift lever on the trans.thats what next for me after I get overdrive amd lockup.
