Engine maintenance in vehicle? Cummins NBS Ford

For those that have swapped a Cummins into a 1999+ Ford SuperDuty, can you easily do engine maintenance with the body in place?

One of the biggest complaints I see about the Navistar 6.0 is that the cab needs to come off to do head work.

I can see the cowl getting in the way with getting to the rear most head studs on a Cummins.
I believe the Ram has clearance for the head studs. Not sure about the Ford though.

I put a 12 valve in my '05 F-450 and there is plenty of room to work on the engine, there is about 5 inches from the top of the valve cover to the bottom of the cowl.

I have a 12v in my 04 F-450 and can pull all valve covers to adjust valves and torque head bolts. You can't pull the head with studs in the block unless you pull the engine or fit the cab.
