cross member hitting front diff

When Autoworld installed the 2005 Cummins into my 1968 F250 they build a massive crossmember that was integrated into the motor mounts, but apparently they didn't realize that it sit right on top of the front differential. The cross member is about 1" thick and 6" wide. They used a torch to cut part of it out so the diff had some room, but I now have 2" of travel in the front end. Not enough. The truck is a Highboy so it is already lifted and I don't want to lift it any more.

Anybody have any thoughts if there has to be a cross member integral to the motor mounts when doing a conversion - it certainly wasn't one for the stock 390FE - which was a heavy beast.

I personally think that if I paid somebody to properly retrofit an engine into my truck and it isn't working I would take it back and have them fix it.

They are many hundreds of miles away and as far as I can tell are idiots.
