hey Alan. did you build the mounts or buy them from Fordcummins.com? I am shopping for a later F350 to swap my 12 valve into and have asked many questions to fordcummins. If you did it yourself how would you rate the difficulty? Is there ample room to fit the beast in? I would love to drop it into a 98-99 chevy but too much alterations for my taste

How did you "massage" the firewall?

I bought the motor mounts through Scott @ Destroked, I'm sure Scott gets them through Auto World. A late model Ford truck would require less fab work than an OBS conversion. The frame on a S/D is wider and engine compartment longer.

we ended up moving the radiator forward and using a S/D condenser for more fan room and to allow the A/C lines to be on the pass side. We also are converting to hydro-boost brakes off of S/D.

The frame will require a small notch for the A/C compressor, the firewall needed a 10" x 3" notch for C/R valve cover.

Clam,

A sawsaw, hammer and welder go a long way in my world . I just cut a notch, built some filler pieces and welded it in.

Rocky and I should get some more stuff done this weekend, I'll post some more pictures.

Got the valve springs in today and picked up a A/C compressor at the salvage yard.

The miller spring tool worked great. I added more pics on page 2 http://good-times.webshots.com/album/562357450ustsaM

I hope to get the headstuds in tomorrow. I'll post more pics.
