Took a long road trip in the RC over this weekend. Finally, some real hand calculated MPG numbers using GPS speedometer/tripometer. 90% highway doing 65 to 70 MPH.
4bt, 46rh, 4.10s, on 35s. 19.25 MPG.
I was hoping for at least 20 MPG. But, close enough. Maybe had I had 3.54 gearing. Oh well.
At least it's better than the 9 MPG I was getting with the old 360.

I would guess the gearing is hurting you the most.

77 Ramcharger, 4bt build. Intercooler installed...
Hey Guys, It's been awhile...
Intercooler install, Part 1, completed. This factory I/C is out of a 92 Dodge that I picked up from a local guy (Stretch) a couple few years back. An old guy at local radiator shop leak tested it and painted it for me over the Summer. I put the drill and sawzall to use to cut rectangular holes into the core support. It was that, or try to locate a 91.5 thru 93 I/C core support. Which, are few and far between.
Anyway, it had plenty of room behind the grill and install came out better than I expected. Pics below.
Up next, Part 2. Installation of new intake manifold, intake horn, clock the turbo, and run the pipe.

Intercooler finished.
All finished. Installed new intake manifold plate and ran the pipes to the intercooler. Big difference in EGT's. Took the RC up a steep hill that would push EGT's to about 1400 degrees before intercooler. Now with intercooler, same steep hill it may have hit 1000 degrees. It was between 950 and 1000. So, much happier about the decrease in EGT's. Before intercooler, my boost would max out at 23 PSI. Now, boost max is 20 PSI. I didn't notice an increase in performance, I was watching the gauges. What I did notice is that is took longer for engine/water temp to heat up. And, it was a warm day today. Maybe due to cooler intake air being pushed? In any case, pretty happy with the intercooler installation.

Glad to see you still tweaking the RC.
Looks like it was well worth the effort to make it intercooled, as that is a serious temp drop in EGTs!
