Hey fellas. My dad and I came across a 65 short bed, 2wd chevy that we pretty much stole for what we paid. What will it take to shoehorn a 6bt into it? We've got a 95 12v with a crap body that we want to set into it for a neat little street/strip ride. Anybody have links or suggestions on how we can do this? Oh yeah... I forgot what it was like without power steering and brakes.

 

Should go right in, use the same mounts as you would for a 73-87 Chebby.

 

There was some discussion on that subject here. I don't think that it would be a simple drop in but it can be done with enough firewall massage and custom engineering.

 

Their was a 67 chevy short bed at the dhra nationals in indy. a few years ago with a cummins and a 6sp tranny.The guy used a ford rearend 9in,i think.The truck looked like it could have rolled off of the show room floor with that motor in it.

 

I put a 5.9 in my 72 chevy I used the 93 dodge motor mount and the only firewall mod I had to do is beat the seam flat in the by the bell housing. I cut the original motor mount off of the frame and made new ones.There are picture on this forum under 72 C10 5.9 cummins
