69 highboy cummins swap?

hey everyone i recently bought a 69 highboy it seems to be a great truck so far with one exception... the fuel milieage SUCKS! i really would love to be able to afford to drive this thing but the little 360 is a gas hog and dosent really have that much power and i dont ever see it getting any better

i would love to swap in a 6bt with a 5 speed trans i dont think it would be to hard(i know it wouldn't be esay) it has the old school three driveshaft setup so id imagine i would only to need to have one driveshaft custom built

heres some pics of the old gal

just saw this post. cummins fits great in the hiboy frame. i ran a divorced t-case set-up for awhile with a 2x4 trans. worked pretty good.

I have a pristine 1972 Hi-Boy, but I am going a different route.

I am swapping the Hi-Boy cab onto the Dodge frame and then moving all the Hi-Boy 4x4 stuff onto the Dodge chassis.

It just looks easier to do it that way, plus the 1991 Dodge 1-ton frame is a bunch wider/heavier than the old Ford frame.
