Showed em what cummins is all about

My son and i had an interesting encounter this last summer. The local sheriff here where i live, and who is also a good friend for many years, called me and asked if i would move a 5th wheel that had been used as a meth lab, and they had just siezed. My son (11) and i went out and hooked on this 3 axle monster that had set there for years in a hole. We tried to pull it out in 2wd and couldnt even budge it. There was deputy standing beside my drivers window telling me to forget it. they would call a wrecker. I told him to step back, that i hadnt even really tried yet. I put it in 4 low and hammered it. the last thing i heard the deputy say as he was high stepping backwards was "sun of a b@tch" as we pulled it out of the hole onto high ground. He later told me that was the coolest sounding truck he ever heard. was quite a show as we backed it out of the yard and pulled it out of town with a highway patrol escort. That deputy now owns a 2004 3/4 ton 4x4 dodge cummins. guess we made a believer out of him. my son and i loved it.

Good story! More importantly, an event that your son will probably never forget. Take care.

C'mon who you're trying impress. We all know Tundra would've pulled out in 2wd easily. Just look at their commercial, pulling a rail car out of a cliff...

Cool story. I yanked a gmc envoy that had high centred itself on a snow embankment. The kid was on the phone while I pulled him off, he was so busy talking he forgot to take it out of park. There was one awful crunch that came from his drive train and then he popped off there like nothing. My buddy almost peed himself laughing.

Well if we're gonna start tellin pulling tales....

I'll never forget my buddy's mouthy teacher at his school for mechanics. I was in the same school, for electrical though. He swore up and down his 97 1500 Chevy with a 350 corvette trans blah blah blah would, and I quote, "drag the dodge drivetrain right down Tremont St". I always laughed it off, until I had my buddy do front brakes for me at school, because the labor was free and we drove in together usually. At lunch the guy comes out and says "You still want to break your Dodge against a real truck?" With good hearts, I said no, but I'll give a shot at breaking your truck sir! So in the middle of the city we hook chains. Well, straps actually. I threw it in 4 low (back when it still had the auto), he was the same, with some wide 33's vs my stock 245/75-16s, took tension up, and it felt like all I did was let off the brake while his truck was bouncing up and down dragging behind me. He actually threw me $20 for the "bet" he had too. All in good fun, but he didn't take it very professionally. His truck did have less rot than mine though, even back then too.

cool story. When My family and I returned from Japan I got my 2005 3/4 ton 4X4. I went to NM recently and my Father, Brother inlaw, best frend and I used my four door to pull the old mans bass boat over the mountains to the lake to go fishing. I let the old man drive it and he loved it. I just got a call from my Dad last weekend and he called to tell me he just got a new 2010 3/4 ton cummins megacab and loves it. O by the way he has had a Ford F250 Powerstroke (7.3) for the last 14 years.

After seeing and hearing my Ram cummins one of my inlaws just traded his Dmax for a brandnew 1 ton 6.7 cummins 2010. I love converting others and seting a trend.

lol i havn't hooked bumpers with anyone yet. You should be glad you took his money. You outweighed his truck and combined with your available power he never had a chance.
Back in late 2002 i swore i would never have one of those clattery dodge's. That was untill i borrowed my dads 2002 dually 4x4 to pull his dump trailer and haul some fill dirt for my yard. Daddy told me i could never pull that trailer loaded with my 2001 half ton silverado, so just use his truck. I loaded that trailer up at work and rolled across the scale at 23600 gross. Hit the highway and it was almost like it wasnt there. I loved it. Hearing that turbo spool up and down hooked me. I just had to have one. And i can honestly say i have never regretted buying one.

Back in 03 I was working for the phone company. I was dispatched to install a phone line and when I pulled up they had a U-haul (one of the big ones) stuck in the front yard. The poor guy said he was in real trouble as he didn't have a lot of extra cash and had to have the truck back in a few hours. I told him that I'd be right back. I came back with my 03 Cummins and proceeded to pull him out of the mud back to blacktop
